Chapter 1: An Old Book
Tally was walking around, trying to find David.
"David!" she yelled. He hadn't been there when she had woken up. She had looked all around, but even her Special vision couldn't find him. "Woah!" she slipped on what felt like a book.
She stood back up and looked at the thing she had slipped on. It was a book! "Rusty Recipes?" she read the title. "Copyright 2008!" she was shocked. "This book is from 3 hundred years ago!"
She opened the book and read one of these so-called "Rusty Recipes". It looked good!
"I wonder if we have the ingredients."
She went around looking for the ingredients for this recipe called "Peeps".
"We do have them!" she was so happy.
Chapter 2: Let’s try it out
She saw David appear just then.
"David!" she exclaimed. "Look what I found!" Tally showed him the book from 2008 called Rusty Recipes.
"Wow," said David. "This is from a long time ago."
"You can say that again," said Tally. "We have the ingredients, and it looks really good!"
"You want to make a 'Rusty' Recipe?" David said.
"Yeah."
"Why?"
"I don't know why, I just feel so attracted to it."
"Okay, fine," said David. "We'll make your Rusty recipe, but I get the first taste."
"No," said Tally.
"What happened to the Special Tally I knew?"
"It's just a food David, it won't change me."
"If you say so," said David. "Alright, let's make it."
They got all the ingredients together and made what these Rusties had called "Peeps".
What a weird name, thought Tally. She then shrugged. Oh well.
After they finished making it, she ate up one of these "Peeps". Then, once she spoke again, David noticed a huge difference.
Chapter 3: Too Happy
She was happy, too happy.
"Hey David," she said with a big smile, too big for Specials that is. Too big for Pretties even. "You've got to try some of this happy-making candy."
"Uh no thanks," David said backing away.
"Come on," she said in a very happy voice. "You know you want this delicious Rusty food."
He backed slowly away. What happened to Tally? he thought, gulping. Why did she turn out like this.
David rushed to the Rusty castle, with Tally following slowly behind him. His mother was up in the castle as well.
"Aah," he whispered.
"Shh," Maddy covered his mouth. "We don't want her to know we're up here."
"What has happened to Tally?" David asked quietly.
"That Rusty food made Tally become too happy," Maddy whispered.
"Is there any cure?" David wondered silently, hoping.
"Indeed there is," whispered Maddy. "That's what I came to give you."
She got a cure for the Rusty food "Peeps" out.
"Thanks mom," he said quietly.
David went down to where Tally was. "Hey Tally!" he said with a smile.
"David-la!" she said with her eyes closed, face in a smile, and arms up like she was getting ready to hug him.
Chapter 4: Medicine
"Tally-wa," he said. "I found something even more delicious!"
"What is it?" Tally asked. "What could be more delicious than Peeps?"
He ran over to her.
"Try some!" he handed her the Peeps cure.
"Are you sure?" Tally asked, her smile lowering to a Pretties' normal smile. "I have a sense that they are much less delicious than-"
Out of nowhere, David fired one of the Peeps Cure Pills into her mouth; perfect shot!
While chewing it, Tally said "you're right, this is better than Peeps!"
"Don't talk with your mouth full!"
With each chew, Tally's smile lowered. First to a half Pretties' smile, then to a -1th of a Pretties' smile, then half an Uglies' smile, then down to half Uglies' half Specials' smile, then down to a Specials' smile.
Chapter 5: Normal Tally
The cure had worked!
"Thanks to returning me to normal, David," said Tally.
"No problem," said David.
"We are never making those things they call Peeps again," she said. "Even though they were really tasty."
"Promise," he said.
"Promise," Tally agreed. Then she flipped the pages in the Rusty Recipes book. "Oooh, let's make this!" she was looking at a picture of what they called Recess candy.
"No," said David. "Not after what happened with this."
"Fine," said Tally. "But we are making-" she read the title. "Banana bread."
"No."
