Author's Notes: Written for an Unlikely Pairings contest on another site. I don't own iCarly. No money is being made off of this or any of my fanfics.
Pairing: Carly/Freddy
Summary: Carly realizes she's in love with Freddy. However, Freddy starts to wonder if she's telling the truth.
Chapter one: an unexpected sentence
"Y-y-y-you're in LOVE with F-f-f-f-f-f-Freddy?!" Sam exclaimed.
"Yes," said Carly.
"Okay, this IS a game right?" said Sam.
"It is not a game," said Carly seriously. "And no more making fun of Freddy. Especially not in front of me."
"Okay, now you have gone TOO far with this joke," said Sam.
"IT'S NOT A JOKE!" yelled Carly.
"Okay," said Sam sarcastically. "Wait, did that nose kiss actually put some kind of bomb in your brain to make you like him?"
"And so what if it did?" Carly asked. She grabbed Freddy's hand. "Come on Freddy, we're going on a date."
"Cool," said Freddy. Then he mouth 'finally'.
What is wrong with Carly? Sam thought. Why are so many strange things happening in this place?
This all seemed like just a dream. How could it be though?
Sam pinched herself.
"Ouch!" Sam said. "Oh well, that proves nothing."
Then, her cell phone rang.
"Hi," said a familiar voice.
"Ms. Briggs?" Sam asked.
"Yes," Ms. Briggs said. "This is just a reminder that you have detention!"
She hung up.
"That proves a lot though," said Sam.
Chapter two: the date
I can't believe it, thought Freddy. I have waited so long for this and finally my chance has come. Carly and I are really going to be together, and not just as friends.
"Taxi!" yelled Carly.
They were outside the apartment and from what Freddy had heard, they were going to the biggest restaurant in New York.
Why would Carly tell him where they were going to go though?
Then again, thought Freddy. She didn't say the name of the restaurant.
A taxi arrived then.
"Come on Freddy," said Carly. "Let's go to what I like to call 'the land of love'."
"Cool," said Freddy, hopping in the taxi.
They were driven all the way to a restaurant, Freddy still didn't know the name of it though.
Carly covered his eyes.
"Don't look," she said. "Not until we come inside."
"Okay," he said. "Is it somewhere romantic?"
"Yes," she said. "You're going to love it."
Freddy mouthed 'yes.' He was finally going to get to go out with Carly. After all of his constant begging and pleading to go out with her, it was finally happening.
Could Sam have been right though? Could it all just be an early April fools joke?
"Okay," said Carly. "You can open your eyes now."
"Woah," said Freddy, looking around.
No way was Sam right now, this place really was romantic.
There were relaxing candles on each of the tables, barely anybody was talking, and there was romantic music playing.
"What's this place called anybody?" Freddy asked.
"The love bug," said Carly. "I'll be right back."
She went over to the front desk, probably to order some food.
Wow, would you just look at this place? Freddy thought to himself. This is the perfect place to propose to somebody.
He looked around.
"Will you be my wife?" He heard a man say.
"Oh Derek," a woman said. "Yes."
I rest my case, Freddy thought.
"Here," said Carly, coming back to their table. "I hope you like strawberry sundae with heart shaped sprinkles."
Yum my favorite, Freddy thought.
"Really?" Carly asked.
"Did I just say that out loud?" he said.
"Yes," she said.
He blushed.
"It's okay, I don't care what you like."
"Thanks Carly."
Did she mean it though?
Chapter three: I want to be more than friends
"I mean it," said Carly.
She still didn't think that Freddy knew she was telling the truth.
Why doesn't he believe me? she thought. I know that before I said that I just wanted to be friends but I feel... different now. As if something has made me change who I love.
"Really?" Freddy said.
"Really," said Carly.
I bet for once he's starting to believe Sam, she thought. I mean, it even surprises me that I started liking him so quickly. Still...
She looked deeply into his eyes.
What was this thing that had suddenly made her in love with him? Even she didn't know. Either way though, now she had changed her mind and did want to be more than friends.
"Why did you suddenly start liking me all of the sudden?" Freddy asked.
Here we go, thought Carly. I knew this would happen.
"I don't really know," she said.
"Aha, so it is a joke?" Freddy said.
"No, honestly it's not-"
"Sam was right all along," he said. "Sam was right."
"No-no-no-Freddy," Carly said.
"Yeah, you all made this up just to make a fool out of me."
"Freddy would you just listen to me?!" Carly commanded. "Look, I don't know what it is and I don't know why I just like you and I would think you would be thrilled that I liked you. After all, before now, I know you liked me. So why don't you now? This is not a joke, I do want to be more than friends and I do like you, I just don't see what the problem is with that."
"Excuse me miss," said the boss. "We'd like this to stay a peaceful restaurant so if you could-"
"No problem," said Carly. "I was just about to leave anyway."
She went out the door, leaving her food behind.
Chapter four: making up
"What have I done?" Freddy said back at the restraint. "I can't believe I just dumped the girl who I used to really like."
"Excuse me sir," said the boss. "If your date has left then could you please get rid of your food?"
"Yes sir," said Freddy.
He took their plates towards the trash can.
Why had he done such a thing? Hadn't he been the one begging for Carly to be his girlfriend? And just when he got the chance, he ruined it all. How could he have done such a thing?
After throwing away all of Carly and his food, he ran outside with nothing behind him but tears from both him and Carly.
Freddy had to make up, but how?
"Taxi!" he called.
A taxi then stopped and he ran down towards it.
When he arrived back at the apartment, he immediately ran up to Carly's apartment.
"Spenc, where's Carly?" Freddy asked Spencer.
"Oh, she's up stairs," said Spencer. "Apparently, something about her and you made her very depressed."
"No time to explain," said Freddy. "Thanks."
When he went upstairs, he could hear her. Crying.
He knocked on the door.
"Who is it?" Carly asked through her tears.
"It's me," Freddy said.
"Go away," said Carly, very depressed.
"Please Carly," said Freddy. "Can't we talk about this?"
"No," said Carly, still crying.
Then Freddy broke through the door.
Then, almost immediately he grabbed onto Carly's shoulders and kissed her on the lips.
They closed their eyes, getting into the kiss.
A few minutes after the kiss was over, Carly finally said, "I accept your apology."
"Yes!" Freddy said.
Then, they were once again, an unlikely yet true couple.
